The symposium will focus on the most recent developments in these topics. One important fundamental aspect concerns the photophysics and ultra-fast spectroscopy of metal-containing molecules used as building blocks of supramolecular devices in various media. Generation of light absorbing materials which can be used for reduction of CO2 and fuel production as well as the development of inorganic molecules able to probe biosystems will be highlighted.
